Why this mission
Most of us who grew up in hospitality have worked for a manager who made the job harder than it needed to be — unclear expectations, inconsistent discipline, favoritism that went unaddressed, and a culture that ran on fear or on nothing at all. We’ve also, if we were lucky, worked for a manager who made the job better than it needed to be. Someone who set the standard, coached us into it, and made the work feel like craft again.
The difference between those two managers isn’t talent. It’s system. The good ones had one, whether they named it or not. The bad ones were making it up as they went.
The StaffApp™ exists to give every hospitality manager the system the good ones had, and to make it so easy to use that even the ones who are making it up as they go can’t help but become better leaders.
What this looks like in practice

Chef Life Media LLC was founded by Chef Adam M. Lamb, a chef, coach, author, and podcaster who has spent his career studying what separates the kitchens people stay in from the ones they flee. The StaffApp™ is the operational expression of that work. The coaching frameworks that power the DevCoach AI assistant are derived from Chef Lamb’s actual coaching calls, published books, articles, and podcast catalog — the same material that The ChefLife Brigade community works with every week.
We are not a software company that discovered hospitality. We are a hospitality coaching practice that built software because the operators we coach kept asking us to.
