Our Customer Commitment
These are the promises we make to every customer of The StaffApp™ — not the minimum our lawyers could defend, but the standard we hold ourselves to. If we ever fall short, we expect you to hold us to it. Email support@thestaffdevapp.com and tell us.
What you can expect from us
-
Your data is yours. Always.
We don’t sell it, we don’t share it with advertisers, and we never use your staff records to train AI models. When you cancel, you get 30 days of full export access, 60 more days of dormant retention if you need to come back or retrieve something, and then clean permanent deletion. Full schedule in our Subscription & Data Lifecycle Terms.
-
We will not automate decisions that should stay human.
Hiring, discipline, termination, and promotion decisions are yours and your managers’ to make. Our AI coaches; it does not decide. Full disclosure of how we use AI, what guardrails exist, and what we don’t do with it is published in our AI Governance Statement.
-
We will tell you what we’re doing, before we do it.
New subprocessors get 30 days’ notice. Material changes to pricing, data handling, or AI architecture are disclosed in advance. We publish our subprocessor list, our AI governance posture, and our security practices, and we keep them current.
-
We will name the source of our coaching.
DevCoach is built on the Chef Life coaching system — not on scraped internet content or unattributed corpora. You can read the source material at cheflifecoaching.com and thecheflifebrigade.com. Your coaching is as good as our coaching, and you can verify what our coaching is.
-
We will not ding you for growing.
If you outgrow your tier — more locations, a bigger team — we’ll notify you and give you time to decide. We will never auto-charge, auto-upgrade, or quietly enforce our limits on you. Hospitality operators have been burned by enough software companies. We’re not adding to that list.
-
We will answer when you call.
Every email inbox on our Legal Hub is real, routed to a real human, with a documented response timeline — published below. Support, privacy, legal holds, security reports, accessibility feedback, AUP violations: each has an owner and an SLA. If we miss one, we’ll tell you why.
-
We will be honest about what we don’t know yet.
We are a small, growing company building a serious platform. We will not pretend to be bigger than we are, or further along than we are. When we commit to something by a date — like formal bias testing by July 1, 2026 — we mean it, and we’ll tell you if that date moves.
Our response timelines
These are the timelines we hold ourselves to for every inbox we publish. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
| Inbox | Purpose | Response SLA |
|---|---|---|
| security@ | Vulnerability reports, security incident notifications | 1 business day |
| support@ | General product support, billing questions, account issues | 2 business days |
| privacy@ | Privacy requests, data subject rights, CCPA/GDPR inquiries | 2 business days |
| accessibility@ | Accessibility barrier reports, alternative-format requests | 2 business days |
| legal@ | Legal holds, data preservation, AI governance questions, DPA requests | 3 business days |
| abuse@ | Acceptable Use Policy violations, platform misuse reports | 5 business days |
These are acknowledgment times, not resolution times. Some issues take longer than the SLA to resolve; what we commit to is hearing you within the SLA window, telling you we’re on it, and keeping you updated until it’s handled.
When we fall short
We will sometimes fail to meet these commitments. When that happens, we want to hear about it. Email support@thestaffdevapp.com with “Commitment miss” in the subject line, describe what happened, and we will respond within two business days with what we found and what we’re doing about it.
We don’t believe in pretending to be perfect. We do believe in being accountable when we’re not. That’s the difference between a company you can trust and a company that just tells you to trust them.
Why we put this in writing
We could have written a customer commitment that was warm, vague, and impossible to hold us to. We chose the other way. Everything on this page is something we’re already doing or have already committed to in our legal stack. Writing it down in one place, in plain English, with timelines and cross-links, turns those commitments into something you can actually use — in a procurement review, in an internal pitch to your operations team, or just in deciding whether we’re the kind of company you want to do business with.
We hope you decide we are. And if we ever give you reason to reconsider, we hope you tell us first — so we can do better.
Stay Tall & Frosty. Lead from the Heart.
